The Skilled Worker program is for skilled foreign workers who are sponsored for permanent residence in Canada by a Yukon company. You must have a National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A, or B job.

The Critical Impact Worker program is for semi-skilled or unskilled workers who are sponsored by an employer and work in a job that is in high demand in the area. So, you must have a real job offer from a company in the Yukon. You don’t have to be in Yukon to apply, though.

The Business Nominee program is for people with business experience who want to start a new business in Yukon, join an existing business as a partner, or buy and run an existing company. You should be ready to put a lot of money into your business in Yukon.

The Yukon Community Pilot lets people who have already been nominated get a special type of work permit that lets them work for more than one company in one of the Yukon communities that are taking part. The plan is for this trial project to run from January 2020 to June 2023.

Yukon Express Entry

The following are the Minimum Requirements:

• Must meet the standards for one of Canada’s three economic Yukon immigration program;
• Need to have an identity for Express Entry;
• Must have enough money to live in Canada and support yourself and your family;
• Must have a job offer from a Yukon company for full-time, steady work;
• Must plan to stay in Yukon and work there.

How it works is as follows:

The first step is for a Yukon company to offer you a job. First, the company has to show that there are no Canadian citizens or permanent residents who can do the job.

The next thing you have to do is show that you have enough money to live in Canada.

Then, you and your boss fill out and send in the Yukon Express Entry application form.

Then, IRCC will send you an Invitation to Apply. After that, you will need to send in all the necessary papers to finish your application for permanent residence.

After IRCC and Yukon immigration program Unit check your papers, you will get your legal residence.

The Yukon Skilled Worker Program

Time to process: 12 to 14 weeks

The following are the Minimum Requirements:

• Must have the appropriate education and work experience (at least a high school diploma);
• Must have worked for at least a year before getting the job;
• If the applicant is in Canada, he or she must have a legal work permit;
• Must have a job offer that is good;
• Must meet a minimum level of language;
• The employer has to meet more requirements;

How it works is as follows:

The first step is for the company to put ads in local and national newspapers in Canada to make sure that no Canadian citizens or permanent residents are looking for the job right now.

The next step would be for the company to offer you the job. The job must be stable and full-time.

Then, you and your employer will have to fill out all the necessary forms, which will be sent to Yukon by your workplace.

Your information will then be looked at by the Yukon Nominee Program to see if the employer is accepted.

If you are accepted, the area will put your name forward. Then, you can use your suggestion to apply to IRCC for both a temporary work permit and permanent residence.

The work permit will let you work in Yukon while your application for permanent residence is being processed. Once you pass security, health, and criminal background checks, you will be able to live in Canada permanently.

Yukon Critical Impact Worker Program

• Must have a full-time job offer for life;
• Must have the appropriate education and work experience (at least a high school diploma);
• Must have worked in the field for at least six months;
• If you are in Canada, you must have a legal work permit;
• Must meet the minimum English or French language requirement;
• There are also other standards and requirements that the employer must meet.

How it works is as follows:

First, you have to get a job offer from a company in the Yukon. The job must have been offered and the employer must have shown that no Canadians or permanent residents are interested in the job.

The next step is for you and your boss to fill out the forms that are needed. The next step is for your company to send the application to the YNP. If the employer is accepted, the YNP will look at your information.

If you are accepted, the Yukon region will put your name on the list. Then, you can ask IRCC for both a temporary work pass and a permanent residence application.

Once you have your work permit, you can go to Canada and work in the Yukon while your application for permanent residence is being processed.

The Business Nominee Program

The following are the Minimum Requirements:

• Must get at least 65 points on the Candidate Assessment Grid;
• Must have at least 10 points on the Nominee Assessment Grid for language skills;
• Must get a Level 6 on the English IELTS test or a Level 4 on the French TEF test;
• Must have been an entrepreneur or run a business for at least three years;
• Must have worked in a field related to the planned business for at least five years;
• Must have a net worth of at least CAD $500,000 (confirmed by an accounting company in the Yukon);
• Must have at least $300,000 in cash, which will be checked by a Yukon accounting company;
• You have to show that your net worth and cash assets came from legal sources.
• Must send in a Resettlement Plan that shows they want to live in Yukon;
• Must plan to live in Yukon for a long time and run a business there.

How it works is as follows:

Before you can move to Yukon, you need to make sure you can. Then, put your entry on the website for the Yukon.

After you get approval in theory, you will have to send in a Business Plan that explains how you will run a successful business.

At this point, you’ll have to show that you put at least CAD $300,000 into the business and own at least a third of it.

Then you can apply for a temporary work pass, which will let you go to Yukon and start your business there.

You will have to meet with a Yukon Business Nominee Program (YBNP) agent when you get to Yukon.

• Have to be chosen by the area;
• Must have two or three eligible job offers, all of which must be in the same Yukon town that is taking part in the program;
• Must have a letter of support signed by the government of Yukon;
• Must meet the work permit’s conditions.
• Your jobs must also add up to at least 30 hours per week of work. They must be year-round, and the pay must be at least the minimum wage or more.
• Your work history must show that you can do the jobs that are available.

How it works is as follows:

You must first make sure that the region of Yukon has chosen you to live there for good. You must also get a letter of support signed by the Yukon government. The letter must say that the job offers are real and that the company needs you to start working in the community as soon as possible. 

The letter must also include information about the job offers, such as the names of the companies, the job, the number of hours per week, and the locations of the jobs.

You will need to send this signed letter and a copy of the nomination letter from the Government of Yukon as part of your application.

When you’re ready, you have to fill out an application on the federal Canadian government’s website. The entry form is different depending on where you want to apply.

If you get this work permit, you can work for up to three different companies in one of the Yukon towns that participate.
