CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program) is an exam for those seeking to come to Canada or study in Canadian academic institutions. The test is created and administered by Paragon Testing Enterprises, a subsidiary of the University of British Columbia.
CELPIP offers two kinds of examinations:
CELPIP-General: Those who plan to immigrate to Canada or must demonstrate English language ability for a job or academic purposes should take this exam. The test evaluates the test-ability taker’s ability to communicate successfully in various everyday scenarios, such as participating in meetings, delivering presentations, and composing emails.
CELPIP-General LS: This test is designed to measure the test-ability takers in listening and speaking exclusively. It is appropriate for persons who must demonstrate their English language competency for Canadian citizenship or other immigration purposes, such as applying for a work visa or permanent residency.
Both versions of CELPIP tests use computer-based evaluations, and test takers receive their scores within eight business days. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), as well as numerous academic institutions and employers in Canada, recognise the CELPIP exam.
The CELPIP exam can be taken in various countries. The cost of the test depends upon the country. Other than in Canada, the test fees will differ based on the location and the test centre.
To the best of our knowledge, the following is a list of the testing fees for the CELPIP-General and CELPIP-General LS exams that were charged in certain locations outside of Canada in September 2021:
CELPIP-General: USD $265
CELPIP-General LS: USD $265
Whereas the fees for the CELPIP-General and CELPIP-General LS tests in Canada as of September 2021 were as follows:
CELPIP-General: CAD $319
CELPIP-General LS: CAD $319
Please be aware that these fees are subject to change at any time; hence, it is always a good idea to check the official CELPIP website for the most up-to-date information on test fees in particular countries.
When enrolling for the exam, it is essential to conduct research on several other criteria, including whether or not the country in question has additional fees for administrative costs, fees charged by test centres, or other charges.
