Celpip Practice Task Sample 12:

Task: Talk about your memorable day

Response 1: One of the most memorable days of my life was my university graduation. After years of hard work, late-night study sessions, and countless assignments, the day finally arrived. I remember waking up early that morning, feeling both nervous and excited.

When I walked into the auditorium wearing my gown and cap, I saw hundreds of students lined up, all with big smiles. My family was sitting in the audience, waving proudly. The moment I walked across the stage to receive my degree, I felt a mix of pride and relief. All the challenges I had faced suddenly felt worth it.

What made it even more special was celebrating afterward with my family and friends. We went out for dinner, shared stories from my student years, and laughed a lot. That day reminded me that hard work truly pays off, and it gave me the confidence to keep setting goals for myself. It is a memory I will cherish forever.

Response 2: My most memorable day was a family trip to the mountains last winter. We don’t often get to travel together, so this trip was really special. The journey itself was amazing; we drove through snowy landscapes, and the scenery looked like something out of a movie.

When we reached our cabin, we immediately went outside to play in the snow. We built a snowman, had a snowball fight, and later went skiing. I wasn’t very good at it, but falling and getting back up made the experience even more fun.

In the evening, we all sat by the fireplace, drinking hot chocolate and telling stories. It felt so warm and comforting, despite the cold weather outside. That day stands out in my memory because it was simple, joyful, and full of laughter. It made me realize how important it is to spend quality time with loved ones.

Response 3: A very memorable day for me was the day I received my first job offer. I had just finished my studies and was actively applying for positions. I remember being anxious, checking my email every hour.

One afternoon, I finally received a message from the company I had interviewed with. When I opened it, I saw the words “We are pleased to offer you a position.” I couldn’t believe it at first. I immediately called my parents to share the news, and they were so happy for me.

That evening, we celebrated with a small family dinner. For me, it wasn’t just about getting a job; it was about feeling independent and capable. It marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life, and that feeling of accomplishment is something I will never forget.
